Heart Blossom Cookies

Substituting the Hershey’s Kiss with a Dove Heart (& some festive sprinkles) makes a fun Valentine’s Day twist to a Christmas favorite we all know and love. These cookies will be the hit of the lunchroom.

Heart Blossom Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Salted Butter Room Temperature
  • 1 Cup Peanut Butter
  • 2/3 Cup Brown Sugar Packed
  • 2/3 Cup Sugar
  • 2 each Eggs Room Temperature
  • 1 Tbs Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp Butter Extract
  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Rainbow Sprinkles
  • Dove Heart Candies

Instructions
 

  • Cream the Peanut Butter, Butter, and sugars until light and fluffy. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl, then continue to mix until all incorporated.
  • Add the Eggs and extracts. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl then continue to mix again.
  • Add the flour, soda, powder, and salt and mix slowly until just incorporated. Finish by hand to prevent overmixing.
  • Divide into 1.5-inch round balls. Roll then slightly wet your hands with water then roll the cookie dough into rainbow sprinkles.
  • Place the cookie balls on a parchment lined baking sheet and slightly press the balls down.
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes prior to baking
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Bake on the middle rack, one sheet at a time for 5 minutes, then rotate then bake for another 6 minutes.
  • Right out of the oven press a Dove Heart into the top of the cookie.
  • These cookies taste best once the candy is cooled and not melted.
